Contractors

Today’s Union affiliated business partnerships are much different from the past. We understand that our contractor partners expect and demand a high quality, competent, and best-trained labor force. We understand that to meet those expectations in today’s business environment, we must respond appropriately as business partners. Unions are committed to providing high quality service while helping to deliver high value, efficiency, and greater business success. Cement Masons Local 404 contracting partners are among the most high profile, reputable, and successful contracting firms in the Northeast Ohio area. Our workforce represents some of the most highly trained and competent workers within the concrete construction industry.

Cement Masons Local 404 believes in a strong labor management relationship. Besides regular contact with the contracting community the Union and the Concrete Contractors Association meet at least quarterly to discuss industry concerns. Additionally, the Union is involved in Quality Construction Partnership (QCP) which is labor management meeting between the Cleveland Building and Construction Trades Council affiliated unions and their Association partners, CEA, NECA, MCA, SMACNA and NOPTICA

A union affiliation can bring greater value to your business in several ways:

Recruitment and Benefit Administration

We handle all aspects of the costly labor recruitment process. Because we are a union, our members receive union benefits. Therefore, the cost of the benefits and the administration of them are our responsibility. This can also save you valuable administration fees.

Increased Levels of Productivity

We can deliver highly trained skilled labor that are expertly trained, drug tested, and supervised. Using our skilled, drug tested, and trained labor force means that workers can directly contribute to greater productivity and, consequently, higher profits.

Elasticity of the Workforce

Again, this can directly contribute to your bottom line as your workforce can expand or contract to meet job and project needs. Whether a contractor is looking for additional help for 1 day or the entire season the Union works diligently to make sure the manpower requirements are fulfilled.

Training

Trained skilled workers mean a more knowledgeable and competent workforce. Our members receive ongoing training in apprenticeship, journeyperson, and other specific and job-specific training programs. In addition to Apprenticeship Training Local 404 schedules a wide variety of Journeyman upgrading programs through the winter season. Schedules are sent to all Apprentices and Journeypersons as well as the contractors and Associations each year. Typical upgrading classes that are scheduled include but are not limited to OSHA 30 Hour certification, Infectious Control Risk Assessment (ICRA) certification, respirator training, CPR, First Aid and other hands on upgrading classes in conjunction with our industry partners.
